Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Nationally-Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with a teletherapy practice in Tennessee, empowering teens and women to process the root of their fear and pain and begin to walk in freedom…and in their God-given, real, true selves.

In addition, driven out of a call to speak up on behalf of the vulnerable, I lead trainings, consultations, and workshops to educate churches, ministries, educators, and non-profits on the affects of trauma, and equip them with practical strategies to increase their effectiveness with individuals of all ages.

MY STORY

Honestly, counselors used to scare me! I was a highly anxious kid and teen, and the first time my mom signed me up for counseling, I sat in that office and did not speak one word. Not one word, y'all!

I was terrified she would find something terribly wrong with me if I began to tell her my problems and fears. The counselor was kind, but quickly got so frustrated with me, that she let me leave. And I never saw her again. :)

I did give counseling a try again later…in my 20’s…and found some relief from my anxiety! I even went to graduate school and got my counseling degree, because I wanted to help others find relief.

However, it wasn’t until a few years later, as a counselor myself by this time, when I sought counseling from a Christian counselor who incorporated my faith into the process, that I truly began to experience freedom from the anxiety that had been my constant companion for so long.

I came to see counseling as a sacred calling to sit with someone in their pain, to give them space to share what they’ve not had the words or the courage to share with anyone else.

With my specialized training, skills, knowledge of brain science, and the Holy Spirit’s guidance, I’m able to help women identify what exactly is hindering them from being who they desire to be (and who God has uniquely created them to be), and help them overcome, transform, and grow!

This is why I do what I do! I delight in sharing what I have learned about the brain, about trauma, and especially about how God designed our brains (and our bodies) to heal. The more I’ve learned about the brain…and watched people follow God’s design for healing…the more my faith has grown.

…all which brings me back to you. I desire for you to grow too…emotionally, mentally, and spiritually! What I’m trying to say is I get it. I’ve worked with lots of teens and women over the past 18 years who experience the same things as you, like…

  1. Trauma
  2. Stress
  3. Anxiety
  4. Difficulty handling transitions in life

You may be experiencing all of these and more, but there are resources to help you, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Life can be difficult; getting to counseling doesn’t have to be. You can work with me from the comfort of your own home…or office…via online counseling.
